Throat Tremolo
Hi David
I found that Throat Tremolo is hard to learn and want to get more tips from you.
I can see there is a section "Hand and Throat Tremolo" in the fundamental course but after reading and trying following the instructions for a few times, I still unable to produce any sounds similar to what you have demonstrated. My problem is it sounds very "artificial" and it is more like a "stop / blow / stop / blow / stop / blow" instead of a rthythm with varying air flow. I may use the wrong way as I feel myself like producing consective notes in a short time instead of making one note tremolo.
Do you have more tips on how to start learning that? I try to search Tremolo in google but most of the results come back for Tremolo Harmonica instead of performing Tremolo using a Diatonic Harmonica. Also there are information related to "Throat Vibrato" - seems this is an advance version of Tremolo and not the same thing a beginner should learn?
Hello hksarcow. You're correct, you'll want to focus on throat tremolo (vibrato will be studies years later).
For further tips... watch Hob's lesson (https://www.bluesharmonica.com/contributor/hob_bosold) and Sharon's lesson (https://www.bluesharmonica.com/contributor/sharon-barrett)
You can also record yourself and send me a sample through the site (you can send that via "Submit your Recording for Feedback" on one of the main lesson pages)
