Dave,

Is there an easy way to transcribe the notes from an MP3 to paper? Or are there any shortcuts you can give me for doing so?

Answer

There are no software programs that do this (they have tried, but it doesn't work).

Just go lick by lick, trying to figure out what they're playing... have a harmonica in hand to help you figure it out. Using software like the Amazing Slowdowner to loop each lick and slow it down if you need to can be very helpful. If it's a fast lick, start by writing down the notes on the beat and then fill in between the beats.

Transcribing is a great skill builder... we all do it. it will take forever the first couple of times, but you will get better at it!

Thanks. That's what I've

Thanks. That's what I've been doing. Hey, I posted a question on the "music to listen to" section but I'm getting no answers. If you think it's appropriate, could you move it to general discussion to see if I get some hits?

Sounds like you're on the right track then. I can't move posts, but you can repost anywhere on site you wish.

Transcribe software

Hey harooki2!! Take a look in the General Discussion section and my question under Transcribing Software. I don't know but it might be something you could be interested in trying. If you play piano or know theory, it might help.
