Transcribing a specific version of Sweet Home Chicago
Hello all,
There is a version of sweet home chicago performed by a gentleman by the name of Haken Ehn. Its by far one of my favorite renditions of the song. In case you haven't heard it, check out his youtube vid:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbrsNWp8GIo
I'm curious if there is anyone out there who's willing to help me get the few riffs of the song transcribed. I'm pretty sure he's on an A harp and he starts off with: ? ? ? 3-4 shake 3+ 2+ 3+
I can't really tell if he's doing 2 notes before the shake or 3. Also I can only assume its a 3-4 shake as it doesn't sound as strident as the 4-5 from the study songs.
I'd be super greatful if someone who has a better knack at this could take a crack at it
Thanks
Just a note on the meaning of words:
Transpose mean to take something that was in one key and play the same thing in a different key.
Transcribe means to hear something and write it down.
I think you mean transcribe.
To my ear the pickup to the first measure sounds similar to the pickup to the 3rd chorus of Take It Easy Now, and also similar to some parts of Chorus 3 in Quiet World (both songs from this site).
I'd say that the very first lick is: 1, 2+, 3+ | 3/4 shake, 3/4 shake, 3, 2 | 2+ 3+ 2+ 3+
Add a tongue technique perhaps on the 3 draw (pull?). I put the shake as two seperate shakes, because you should dip each one. Then slap the blow notes, and don't forget that it's got a shuffle rhythm.
