Trouble hitting some slapped notes cleanly, especially hole 5
Wed, 11/17/2021 - 15:30
I don't always hit the 5 draw slap cleanly; more like I hit it low and slide into it. I am sort of new to tongue blocking, started out with puckering. I am sure this will improve as I go along. I wonder if there are some specific execises that might be of benefit.
Chorus 6 of Temperature begins with a 5 draw slap and it would sure be nice to be able to hit that with some authority. This is holding me up some, as I hope to finish level 2 by the end of the year.

Hello Hank. This is just reps over time, just keep at it. Depending on how you hold your harmonica, you might feel your right hand as you play that 5 (I do). If so, then you can slide to the right until you hit your hand and there's your 5. If it's just short of that, or if you need to move your right hand a little to make room for your mouth, those can also be tactile references.
