Two Draw, Three Blow

Hi Dave...I am working my way thru the intermediate lessons, and in particular, I have noticed in Gary's Blues, that sometimes you use the 3 blow and sometimes the 2 draw. Sometimes for even the same lick, in different choruses. In general, I have always tried to use the 2 draw most of the time. Just wondering what your thoughts are when it comes to 2 draw verses 3 blow?
Homer.
Hey Homer. Tongue blockers tend to use more 3+, especially for a passage with slaps and pulls (generally shuffles and swings). When a 3+ and 2 are used in the same passage, it's commonly for differences in tone... and sometimes just for the hell of it (no rime or reason). Of course there are times where we use it for breathing purposes. 2 is great for when we're doing a lot of bending.
