Ultrasonic Cleaning
Hi Kinya,
Does putting the harp into the ultrasonic cleaner with the plates on get it just as clean as taking it apart beforehand? If all the junk gets cleared away from the inside of the harp can't it just resettle there? I ask because I see you use a brush for further cleaning after putting them in unassembled.
Thanks,
Hugh
Good question Hugh,
After removing your non wood/bamboo-type diatonic harmonicas from the ultrasonic bath:
- Knock the mouthpiece against the heel of your hand, and/or thigh to remove the loosened particulars
- Tilting the mouthpiece downward (gravity), while brushing is a useful technique as well
- Also try a vacuum cleaner, with a small nozzle
- My favorite method is to use my small air compressor, with a small tube that will fit the holes, and blow the unwanted particles out of the harmonica.

Hello Hugh, Either will work fine. For medium to deeper cleaning, I recommend adding a capful of EuroSolution. Available through MicroMark:

Hi Kinya,
I forgot to ask if RO is okay with the recommended cleaning solution or is distilled best?
Thanks,
