Walk With Me chorus 5 and 6.
I am finding the double notes on the start of the 5th chorus work ok if I hear the 3 draw of the song and dirty it with a 'grin' to add the 4 hole etc. But on the 6th chorus I am wondering if that is the same technique? Is it a dirty 3 or should I be doing a 4 holes mouth position and tongue blocking off 1 and 2 cleanly? (I am finding it difficult to do.)
Also, on chorus 2 and 3 I am tongue blocking to get hole 2 but found I can play hole 1 by hanging off the end (as it were) and it sounds fine. Is this o.k. or should I stick to the tongue switch for some future dexterity?
Really enjoying the lessons.
Hello Dave. I'm glad you're enjoying your lessons. The grin is just fine for CH6 as well, It's more common to not use all of the top note of a two-note combination. The issue here is that it's fast, so you'll want to pre-grin in order to land correctly on the two notes.
I personally like the sound of the tongue switch for hole 1, but this is not a big deal, taking the tongue off the harmonica for hole 1 is fine, I commonly play that way.
