wind saver problems with CX12
Hi Kinya, The blow 3 (G) and blow 4 (C) on my CX!2 have been sticking. I have soaked the harmonica and changed the wind savers over those hole various times and I cannot fixe it. In Spain I can not find anyone who works on harmonicas. Since the CX12 seems fairly air tight I just took those wind savers off.. and it plays pretty well. Could I just take all the wind savers off or would the instrument not play? Any ideas would be great. Thanks
Hi Morris, I found the easiest way to attach photos to this site is through Google's Drive product, called Docs. If you have access to this application, let me know and I will write you back the instructions.

Hi Morris, there are two pieces to the google Drive puzzle: manage the docs and manage the photos
Docs
- Log onto your Google account
- From your gmail page, launch the google Drive app--usually found behind the 9 squares icon located in the upper right (3 columns across and 3 rows down)
- Select New, then choose Google Docs
- On this new Docs page you can write your narrative and Insert Photos directly from photos that were uploaded to Drive.
Photos
- Take close up photographs of the reedplates so we can all see clearly, the windsavers
- Photos taken on your smart phone can be sent to google Drive
Once you have the narrative and photos laid out on a Google Docs page, select All (ctrl + a), then Copy (ctrl + c). This will take a snap shot of your work, then automatically post it onto the clipboard.

Now that you are back on our page, simply Paste (ctrl + v) the Google Docs piece directly onto the page you are working on. I hope this works for you.

Terrific photo Morris!
Check out my recent photo essay on windsavers just posted. Query me if you have anymore questions

Hi Morris, based on your photos and initial (11/21/18) narrative, it appears you may have reeds, not a windsaver issues. It would be useful for you to remove the reed plates from the comb, and inspect the reeds on the opposite side of the windsaver.
It was difficult to assess from your photos, but I'm thinking you should increase the "zero point" (rivet end of reed @ .002") and free end gapping (@.007") of the 3 blow (G) and 4 blow (C) reeds.

Hi Morris, I luv the Hohner CX12--a terrific workhorse.
Quite frankly I'm suprised your 3 and 4 still play. Those darn windsavers are critical for maintaining airtightness and not polluting the other reed in the same chamber. Can you send me some close up pics of your reedplate? I want to see what's going on.
