Professor John Shirley has created "BlueDadi Harmonica Recording Software" to help BluesHarmonica.com students do quick recordings of themselves with the best harmonica tone possible. John has provided two videos for you to watch to get to know the software. Please watch these videos, read the provided PDF and spend time experimenting with everything in the program. Since John has created this on his free time and is not doing this for profit, there is no additional support for this program... have fun experimenting and seeing what you can creatively do. Thanks John!

Pretty cool editing software recommended by fellow student Sandor. He states, "It's not for live music, but for studio recording... fixing vocals, and works very well with harmonica. Harmonica caused headaches for other software." He also uses this software to convert what he played from audio to midi so that the midi can be imported into notation software to notate in standard music notation what he played. Thanks Sandor.

Go to a favorite YouTube performance you've been interested in learning and click on Settings (gear icon at bottom right-hand side of screen), click on Speed and then select .5 (half speed) or .25 (one quarter the original speed). Pitch will remain the same when slowed down. This is a great tool to study songs from YouTube.

In this study we look at software recording. I'll be using Garage Band, but the principles taught in this lesson will help you with whichever computer program you use for multi-track recording. This study is for all skill level players and no harmonicas are needed for this study. Videos include: Introduction to Software Recording; Setup to Software Recording; Reference Recording; Recording; Editing and Exporting; Closing to Software Recording
