Where y'all from?
I see we have some folks from around the globe, but from how many places?
Where are all of our members hailing from? Just throw down a state and country.
I'll start:
New Jersey (Philly suburb - as I don't like telling people I live in New Jersey).
Groningen, The Netherlands.
And playing for 2 years now, left my pucker aside and I am blocking like hell. This is like learning to walk again but necessary if one want to progress
Playing for a year and a half using David's Book CD combo but really, really enjoying the website experience.
About a 7 hour drive north of Sydney. Been playing quite a few years but more to learn. I really
enjoy this site!
Two blocks from the boat docks, 5 minutes from the beach!
Near Stavanger, Norway.
Been trying to learn this for almost ten years...
I think I found the right place now, for getting more structured.
Concord, North Carolina...
Just outside Charlotte...
I'm originally from Vancouver, BC, but I've been living in San Francisco for a very long time - David Barrett and I are within driving distance of one another.
(and I live about ten minutes' walk from the beach).
Mornington Peninsula, Victoria, Australia, 2 minutes from the beach.
40 minutes from Melbourne.
Half-way between School of the Blues/JJ Blues in San Jose and Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco.
P.S. I'm originally from Philly.
Devon, UK - 30 minutes from the beach, 5 minutes from Dartmoor! Been playing just over a year and a half. The website's great. All of the techniques are described accurately and the transcripts and videos are clear and systematic, so you don't sound a bit like the stuff off the records - you sound exactly like the stuff off the records. Everything else has given me watered down versions of the techniques I've heard.
Near the Blue Mountains in NSW Australia!! And I'm coming to the Workshop-I'm so excited yooohoooooooo (sorry)
I have been playing a few years but learning to tongue block after puckering but its all good! Love this website.
i am from Canada - Montreal City.
Just north of Tampa bay area.
Just northwest of Aspen....Playing for just under a year....REALLY like this site!......848 miles from the beach :-)
Chiang Mai, North Thailand, though my home to which I will return in a couple of months is in Far North Queensland (Kuranda) Australia
I live 10 minutes from the School of the Blues and have been taking lessons from Dave since 1997. I'm not that great of a player but I'm a real gear head and currently customize Seydel 1847's.
And Jon makes great customized harps!
Oh, by the way, I live in Morgan Hill, which is 15m south of San Jose (and San Jose is 40m south of San Francisco).
I'm from Lund in Sweden
deeeeetroit, michigan

Ocean Grove Victoria Australia
about 1.5 hrs from Melbourne. I have spent alot of time in various places in the Northern Territory Australia including some very remote bush.
Originally from Sacramento, CA. , but job reloctaed me to the Puget Sound area of Washington state 13 years ago. First saw Rick Estrin w/ Little Charlie for 2 bicks at a bowling alley in Carmicheal, CA on a Halloween night is 1979 or 80, and last saw him in on New Years Eve night 2008 in Folsom, CA. A way cool guy and one of my first inspirations (along with Norton Buffalo, and Charlie Musselwhite). Started getting serious about harp playing after I turned 50 (previously studying tenor sax). Been playing harp seriously for a year or two and loving it equally as much each and every day.
hi Everyone
Perth West Australia one of the most isolated cities in the World... (has some great harp players)

me n the reeds
Is that right that i`m only guy from Finland...heh.
Portland, Oregon
1 mile from the river that runs through downtown and 90 miles from frigid ocean waters.
I have been playing about 1 1/2 years...started over several times....
I love the Gear and now have about all there is to get....Darn it!
David Barrett is the Worlds Greatest Harmonica Guru....
you gotta know Joe Powers then, being from Portland. If you don't, check him out! ;)
Yes, I have taken a few lessons from Joe.....
Murrells Inlet, SC - 1 mile from the beach. Is it easier to get a nice tongue blocked 2 draw in Denver than it is at sea level due to the elevation?
I am from Mexico City. I first became interested in harmonicas after one of the coolest summers of my childhood, when my dad played Lee Oskar's "Beofre the Rain" LP every morning at breakfast before summer camp. It took me a while to get started, my best friend's dad gave a chromatic when I was about 12, I bought a $6.00 diatonic in SC in '96 and finally, in 98, I found a book with a CD and that really got me started. Later on I found a teacher, then I opened my own harmonica workshop in the University for a while, and then I was done with school and started "a grown up's life" fixing complex and expensive machines... Now I would like to play again and learn more, and that's why I am here in blues harmonica dot com.
Greetings to all the harmonica players in BluesHarmonica,
Bernardo
Hi I just joined and love the method taught here. Thinking about getting a mic and amp for the basement. I live in Newbury, New Hampshire.
Fort Worth Texas, about 10 miles from Billy Bobs, and 15 minutes from Texas Motor Speedway.
Enjoy,

I'm from Japan!
1 hour north of Tokyo.
I live two seconds from the woods. The most dangerous thing about my daily commute is the likelyhood of hitting a moose.
I've been playing almost 9 years and using Dave Barrett's books and CD's all that time. Anything I can't do on the harp is because I haven't followed Dave's prescribed course of study.
Hey i live in pinellas park been looking for harp players out here to hook up with been kind of playing for about 2yrs maybe you guys would like to hook up thanks dave for the site i'm learning alot
Currently in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I've been playing for almost 3 1/2 years.
